Danao

E.A.T. Danao is the town’s newest brainchild. “E.A.T.” does not only pertain to the partaking of the town’s organically grown and fresh food which is in abundance but also a whole new experience far superior to the common offer of Chocolate Hills’ tour, tarsier and dolphin/whale watching.
E.A.T. Danao is a tourism concept set up to benefit the municipality of Danao and its people. The tour involves responsible tour of Danao’s God-given gifts. It is the town’s major task to conserve these gifts and enhance them to sustain the well-being of all its constituents.
Danao offers unique and exhilarating activities in different categories set amidst verdant valleys framed by the majestic expanse of mountain ranges. To trim down the choices for the individual tourist, specific activities were grouped into three: Extreme, Economic, and Educational. So “E” stands for any of the three; “A” for Adventure; then “T” for Tour.
All these activities converged in one place which the town calls the Danao Adventure Park. The Park is located at barangay Magtangtang, 72 kilometers from the City of Tagbilaran and only about two (2) hours ride away.
As of December 2008, the zip line in Danao town, province of Bohol is the Philippines’ longest and tallest zip line. It traverses around half a kilometer from one mountain to another, taking you to a one-minute exhilirating ride. A video taken with Josh on the zip line in Danao, one of the newest tourist attractions in the province. The mayor of Danao calls it “sui-slide”. It’s the closest you can get to a suicide experience.
E.A.T Danao or Eco/Extreme/Educational Adventure Tour Danao is an eco-adventure tourism concept set up to benefit the Municipality of Danao, Bohol and its people. It stands for:
EAT is Eco Adventure Tour: Responsible travel to natural areas through providing tours for tourists who opt for a more leisurely travel. Namely activities like bird watching, caving, an on-site organic farm visit, kayaking, sightseeing, rice field walk, viewing and taking a leisure walk to see Gods creation.
EAT is Extreme Adventure Tour:  Responsible travel to natural areas that caters to tourists that prefer extreme adventure activities like river trekking, tyrolean traverse, rappelling, bouldering, rock climbing and the suislide.  The place is also potential for bungee jumping.
EAT is Educational Adventure Tour:  Responsible travel to natural areas focusing on educating            tourists and local community on preserving our natural landscape and cultural heritage through activities like showing the importance of watersheds, forest preservation and ecosystem, organic farming methods and its benefits and sharing Danao’s pride, Francisco Dagohoy’s place in history.
E.A.T Danao or Eco/Extreme/Educational Adventure Tour Danao is co-manage by LGU-Danao, Bohol  and the different People’s Organizations.  It is specifically situated at the Danao Adventure Park – Magtangtang, Danao, Bohol.  Danao  is 72 km from Tagbilaran City, the provincial capital.

The Plunge

Plunge: a canyon swing adventure attraction mounted over a 200 metet high and 300 meter wide gorge. A person would have to do a 45 meter free fall before being launched on a pendulum swing measuring to a hundred meter diameter. Cable has a maximum working load of 5 tons. Now longer (70 meters) more fear some.
"The Plunge" is the best "fear factor" experience among other adventure activities on offer. One has to literally plunge to an open air where about two seconds, the plunger will all be defenseless, feel nothing and left all alone. This experience is one great way to de-stress and even make one appreciate life the more. It can accomodate 50 pax in a day. Total experience will just take around 10 min.

Rate: Php 700

Suislide

Suislide is basically a zip-line consisting of a pulley suspended on a cable mounted on an incline cliff. The Suislide has two lines, going forth and back. Its starting point is parallel to the Sky Ride and Plunge's height.

Suislide is the local version for zipline, a skyride or a slide for life. Sui-slide is coined from th word, "Suis" (the sound of the cable ride once you get to slide) and "slide". It could also mean for some who is so much petrified with heights to be a suicidal slide. It traverses around half a kilometer from one mountain to another, taking you to less than a minute exhilarating ride...
Working load is 5 tons. It can slide a maximum of 200 pax in a day.

Sky Ride

The Sky Ride is more like a cable ride with a gorgeous view of the river and gorge. The small open air cabin is suspended 200 meters above the ground, a 15 minute ride back and forth. The cable car has a maximum capacity of 6pax. It has a working load of 8 tons.

Buenavista

Buenavista

Buenavista is a town on the northern coast of the province. At one time, it was a barrio of Inabanga and later of Getafe. Formerly, it was known as Pangpang because of a limestone cliff found in the barrio. When the Spaniards came to the shores of the place, with its green hills and slopes, they were very much impressed by the scenic spots and its natural beauty. They could not help but appreciate the beautiful view before them. Hence, they named the place Buenavista, meaning "good view". In 1874, Buenavista was separated from Inabanga and annexed to Getafe. It was made an independent municipality in 1960.

Sagbayan

Sagbayan Peak is a mountain resort and recreation center located in the town of Sagbayan, about 45 miles northwest of Tagbilaran City. Offering a 360 - degree perspective view of the famed Chocolate Hills plus the distant blue sea separating Bohol from the island of Cebu, the place has captured the interest of the nature loving tourists.

10 miles from Carmen's Chocolate Hills Complex and 1-1/2 hour drive through scenic rice fields, historic towns, coconut and banana groves from Tagbilaran, the resort sits on a five-hectare property suited on a mountain top at the cool mountain town of Sagbayan, Bohol. Compared to the Carmen complex, the resort is more spacious and a whole lot less crowded, with ample parking space for vehicles.

The resort offers many facilities for its guests. Th first facility that you will pass by upon entering the resort is an open-sided chapel. A short trip thru a scenic landscape will bring you to the wide parking area and entrance of the park, where one has to buy P10 tickets to enter.

Going up a wide flight of stairs, one reaches a plateau where you are greeted by a life-size dinosaur known as T-rex. The dinosaur is 19 feet in length and 10 feet tall and really fearsome to look at. At the foot of the stair leading to the pavilion is Pizza Man with his funny grin.

Other cartoon characters are scattered around such as Duffy Duck, Bugs Bunny, Lola, Marilyn Monroe, Donald Duck, Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs, Lion King, Tiger and the other dinosaurs. The cartoon figures give life to the place and are a joy to look at. The kids surely love playing and running around them.

The covered pavilion is provided with tables and chairs where quests can dine and take their snacks. Refreshments are offered at the counter situated at the side of the covered court. Cafe' Baudillo is set in front and at the rolling end of the mountain with sliding glass doors. The Cafe' is air-conditioned and geared for fine dining and overlooks the butterfly dome and the viewing deck in the distance. Room accommodation are available for guests.

A high-powered telescope is on the pavilion's deck. With a 10-peso coin, one can view the Cebu City skyline across the sea for a minute or two.

A few steps down, from Cafe' Baudillo, is th butterfly dome which houses about 18 species of these beautiful winged creatures. Flowering plants augment the inside of the dome with a very big man-made butterfly gracing the center.

Down a flight of stairs and slowly going up a small hill, you will arrive at a massive viewing deck that gives a 360 degrees view of the surrounding landscape including the Chocolate Hills, the sea, and the Island of Cebu. The view here is spectacular and awesome making some mutter a few words of thanks to our heavenly creator for such a grandeur.

How to get there

"For hire" vans are available from Tagbilaran City, at the Dao terminal; and from the town of Tubigon, fronting the municipal building. Following the Tagbilaran- Tubigon- Clarin route, partially on the way to the town of Nahawan, one will see a junction road with a sign indicating the way to Sagbayan. Sagbayan is way up thru a winding road to a point which is more than 900 feet above sea level. one passes by lush vegetations, developed and tilled lands, and common houses of the townfolk. One also sees the shorelines of Tubigon and the vast expanse of water with the silhouette of the island of Cebu across it.
